With the disclosure of Senator Jose Pimentel “Jinggoy” Estrada on the Php. 50 million gift, from the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP), to senators who gave their impeachment voted for the removal of Chief Justice Renato Corona, his brother Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Estrada reveals that the Congress also apparently received pork barrel money, but he was unaware of it at the time.

“Parang hindi ko maalala na. Pero parang at that time, sa Congress syempre pag merong ibinigay, kung hindi ako nagkakamali parang P10 million I can’t remember anymore, pero that time kasi parang sa Congress (merong ibinigay),” the Senator stated.
Yet the senator defended his unknowing self,

“(But) since baguhan lang naman ako doon, siyempre anything that is given to you, kung para naman sa distrito mo ito, we just accept. Kumbaga hindi ko pa alam yung kalakaran doon. I was not yet aware of those things at that time,” he continued.

There were reports that support JV Ejercito’s claim, since during the time, the Department of Budget and Management was “giving away” the same amount to members of the Congress.

Despite being able to recall receiving pork barrel, the Senator stated that he is unsure of which source did the money come from.

“Hindi ko alam na nanggagaling sa DAP ‘yun, kung saka-sakali man na nakatanggap ako. Pero one thing is for sure yung sa PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund), at least malinis po ako na hindi po ako nakapaglagay dun sa much controversial funds na nagamit, yung Napoles funds. Ito po yung dalawang controversial scams that happened when I was in the 15th Congress in the House of Representatives,”
