If you think that slaying kids in order to fulfill your terrorist goals is something frightening, then wait until you hear about the recent reports of the military after encountering the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

The report of a recent firefight the rooted from the BIFF’s failed invasion on Maguindanao’s Datu Paglas came with a shocking revelation. Children fighting the battles of adults, imaging children with weapons, surviving only on instinct, attempting to kill soldiers due to the horrifying ways of the BIFF.

Lieutenant Colonel harold Cabunoc, the commander of the 33rd Infantry Battalion even spotted that some children were equipped with high-caliber sniper weapons.

"Nakita namin sa teliskopyo, meron akong mga snipers. Mga bata. Young-looking na mga kids na akala mo naglalaro lamang," said the 33rd Infantry Battalion commander.

In other report, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) infer that the recruitment grounds of these children are the very diplomatic sanctuaries that they dwell in, the schools which were supposed to keep them safe.

"Nakakababahala dahil bakit napapayagan ng mga magulang ang kanilang mga anak na umanib sa grupong ISIS-inspired group," Cabunoc, in regret, stated.

AFP Public Affairs Office chief Colonel Noel Detoyato, declared the saddening truth, that they can’t avoid confronting the child-soldiers forever.

"As much as possible, we avoid confronting them. Pero kung hindi talaga mapigilan, in the thick of battle, kung minsan hindi mo na talaga ma-distinguish kung alin 'yung babae, lalaki o bata.”

This goes to show that terrorists, may it be islamic or communistic, would go to great lengths to achieve their damned goal, even if it means taking away the one’s fondest moments of childhood.
