With the never ending grace that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has shared to the masses, the President has now signed a bill that will hopefully help end hunger of children in the Philippines.

The approved Republic Act 11037, also known as the “Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act” first went through the Congress on June 2017 forwarding it to the Senate on February 28, 2018 then finally landing in the hands of the President whom gave the it a go on June 20, 2018.

With this being said, the act will institutionalize feeding programs for the underweight and undernourished children studying in public day care centers to public elementary schools.

The Malacañang through Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. stated that,

“We aim to combat hunger and undernutrition among the youngest members of our society for we consider it a sin for the government to be unable to spend billions worth of budget while around six million Filipino youths suffer from acute malnutrition.”

The said Republic Act mandates the creation of another nutritional database, a National Nutrition Information System that will sync with the preexisting ones from relevant government agencies.

This therefore will protect the future citizens of this company by arming them with the knowledge about the right food to eat and supplying them with the right food that will shield them from undernourishment.
