Due to the rise of arrests on by-standing individuals due to ordinance violations, t he Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is giving by-standers another option in life. Rather than do nothing other than be unproductive, the agency aims to welcome these by-standers to their doors for them to learn unique skills in order to become a contributing citizen.

There is no excuse to a person that says that they can’t learn since the tuition fee costs a lot since education is now completely free. As Department Director General of TESDA Alvin Feliciano has to say,

“Welcome na welcome po sila sa TESDA, sa lahat po ng... almost 200 courses po ‘yun aming ino-offer na wala po silang babayaran. Bagkus sila po ay kakalingain ng TESDA para sa kanilang magandang trabaho at magandang kinabukasan.”

With the training programs that TESDA provides for free, the by-standers, if they choose to finish a course, are definitely blessed with better jobs and futures.

Below is a list of sectors in which one can find their desired training program.

  •          Construction
  •          Automotie and Land Transportation
  •          Agriculture
  •          Information and Communication Technology
  •          Tourism and Restaurant
  •          Processed Food and Beverages
  •          Garments
  •          Metals and Engineering

In order to attain free education, one must first write up a scholarship application. Below is a list of the following scholarship programs available for those who want to study in TESDA.

  •          Walk-in scholarship application
  •          Online scholarship application
  •          Barangay-based scholarship application

Simple citizens like the construction worker Orlando Marcos remarked the incredible opportunity that is being given for free to the by-standers. He states that these free training programs would assist the youth’s future and which would benefit everyone when the time comes.

“Para matulungan ang mga kabataan na umunlad tsaka ikabubuti naman natin iyon,” said the construction worker.
