Sister cities is a terms used to describe the cooperative agreement between towns and cities nationally and internationally.

Recently, Quezon City and Davao City renewed its sister cities pact in the person of Quezon City Vice Mayor Josefina "Joy" Belmonte and Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-Ag last June 27, 2018 at the Carlos Albert Hall of Quezon City Hall.

The Memorandum of Understanding of Sister City Cooperation between Quezon City and Davao City was first signed back in 1994 through late Mayor Ismael Mathay, Jr. and former Davao City Mayor (now President) Rodrigo Duterte.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert M. Bautista looks forward to a stronger alliance between the two major cities under the administration of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

“Matagal na ‘to, 24 years ago, nag-renew lang tayo under Mayor Sara Duterte and under my administration. Dapat mas maigting. Hindi lang cultural kundi governance -- palitan ng kaalaman nang pamahalaan sa pamahalaan hanggang sa barangay level,” Bautista said.

Of the projects and programs the two cities will look forward to, among them are knowledge-sharing programs between the executive department where both prestigious cities can have an exchange of best practices on various aspects of governance.

Bautista even looks forward to barangay-to-barangay partnerships and exchanges.

"We can organize a 'Lakbay-Aral' between our barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan leaders and learn from each other," he said.

As for Al-Ag, he also looks forward to exchange of best practices to help both cities progress.

“Napakaimportante nito para sa amin sa Davao City na meron kaming malalapitan ng tulong dito sa Quezon City kung ano ang mga good practices dito sa Quezon City na pwede naming magawa sa Davao City at kung anuman ang good practices namin sa local governance pwede rin naming ibahagi sa Quezon City,” Al-Ag said.
