The Australia Men's National Basketball Team removed Gilas Pilipinas’ chief sponsors’ decals on the floor, namely Chooks-to-Go, PLDT, and Smart off the basketball court floor which incited dismay from Chooks-to-Go.

The Australian team reasoned that the stickers were slippery and could cause injuries to their players, however these stickers had already been approved by International Basketball Federation (FIBA) before the games even started.

On top of that, the material of the decal ads were the same brand and quality used during Gilas’ game against Chinese-Taiper and Japan, and yet none of these teams complained about it.

Chooks-to-Go President Ronald Mascariñas openly expressed his disappointment at the actions of the Australian team.
"Nakakalungkot, they not only disrespected the world organizing basketball body but also our home soil,” Mascariñas said.

"Yung Chinese-Taipei and Japan practiced and even played with those stickers on the floor. Nagreklamo ba sila?," he added.

As for the behavior of the Gilas team, the sponsors are confident that the whole Philippine team was on their best behavior throughout their games.

"We sent over officials from our company to Australia during our away game against them. They could say na ang players natin were respectful to them and their officials," Mascariñas commented.
