The head of HNP, Davao City Mayor, did not display any signs that she is seeking for a national position.

President Duterte who was also present during the event pledged that the election under his term would be clean.

“In this election, I commit to the Filipino people that this will be a clean election. Sabihin ko sa COMELEC na i-deputize personally ako. There will be voting and the votes will be counted correctly,” Duterte said.

Endorsing the senatorial bets of HNP is President Duterte’s way of contributing to the success of the said party.

‘Alunan doctrine’ would be imposed impressing that nobody was permitted to convey firearms during the elections, said Duterte. He added that the poiticians would be likewise prohibited from hiring armed bodyguards or private armies.

The New People’s Army (NPA) was also warned by President Duterte, to avoid from meddling with the elections or else he would not think twice to uphold the law.
